The Shipbuilding and Repair Yard in Pashaliman has a long history of its operation in ship repairing and shipbuilding. The yard is located in the Pashaliman Bay near the Orikum City in the Vlora District. Built in 1969 in Pashaliman, it has served in its beginnings by repairing all Naval Military Fleet with a relatively small workforce, which over the years increased the repair capabilities with 110 ships and about 600 employees. After the 1990s, the Armed Forces were restructured and the shipyard reduced the repair activity to a smaller number of fleet naval vehicles from 36 vehicles to 18 vehicles today and about 12 civilian floating vessels. For the first time in its history, KNRA in cooperation with the Dutch company “Damen Shypyards”, in May 2009 started production of new “ILIRIA” ships, with a weight of 240 tons, length 42ml, max speed 26 knots. The Shipbuilding Yard in Pashaliman, through this cooperation managed to produce successfully 3 Ships. KNRA with V.K.M No. 397, date 11.05.2015, the building gains the status of the State Enterprise, where its main activity is the repair and maintenance of the Naval Military Fleet vessels but also the work and services with the third (private subjects). KNRA’s work activity is carried out on a territory of 509`314 m². The yard has a rich and diversified inventory of AQT. Machines such as lathe, bareno, grate, freza, stickers, profile calendars, turning tubes, saucers, etc. even automated, enable KNRA to be a complete enterprise for technological and industrial work and products.
